NEW CLIP FROM SHORT FILM ANTE

February 18, 2011 — 1 Comment

This the first exclusive clip of the anticipated short film Ante. The film will premier at Kino Shorts on March 9th prior to worldwide release. For me it’s great to see Steve and Greg in action.

I wonder if the film looks like what people expect?

Great ending to this scene which turns the story on its head. I spent a while in make-up getting all aged up and it constantly needed refreshing between scenes. The upside was that I had a stubborn, pesky blackhead that I had tried for years to remove with all kinds of tools and products, but to no avail. However, once I peeled all that gunk off it had miraculously disappeared. RESULT!!!

Ante The Teaser gets blogged

As many of you are aware I took part in the creation of the short film Ante earlier this year. The director Chris Cronin edited Ante the Teaser in a few days mainly to show the crew and the cast, and give us a flavour of how it will look. Well, the teaser attracted 1000 YouTube views over a few days and kept on climbing despite having no publicity. The teaser itself garnered entry into a Film Festival and bit of a buzz has surrounded the film ever since.

It is a great story written by Paul Thomas who was inspired by Richard Kuklinski ‘the iceman’ in his creation of the Hitman Pierson, the character I play. It was one of those gamble shoots for an actor as far as I was concerned. I hadn’t heard of the director and I didn’t know who else had been cast. So the first thing I did was google other work Chris had done and after watching that I knew I wanted to be part of this project. I was impressed by his visual style and ideas, and even though I wouldn’t be paid I auditioned anyway.

I don’t usually do unpaid work anymore but sometimes it feels right to help out in that way and to be honest I’m glad I did. The other actors were great to work with and the crew were a team that in my opinion, along with the writer, have a good chance of going far in the mad bad biz of film.
