Archives For Ante

Here is the latest clip from the Short Film Ante. The Premier went extremely well prompting John Robb to say about the film “Brilliant…it will be a big cult hit.”

The film is currently doing the Festival circuit and I’ll keep updating as news comes in.

Here is the Q&A with the Ante team and John Robb after the Premier screening.

Here is the Q&A after the Premier of the ‘short’ film Ante at Kino.  The cast, writer and director were questioned by John Robb of Goldblade fame and members of the audience.

Thankfully most of the questions were quite rightly aimed at Chris Cronin for his better than good job of directing the film. Personally I hate watching these things back as I think I come across as a proper tool most of the time. The other guys did great during the Q&A and the response to the film was outstanding and kinda caught everybody surprise. And hey, if the number of new Facebook friends people connected with the film got, after the screening is anything to go by,  we just might be in for a bit of a ride!

NEW CLIP FROM SHORT FILM ANTE

February 18, 2011 — 1 Comment

This the first exclusive clip of the anticipated short film Ante. The film will premier at Kino Shorts on March 9th prior to worldwide release. For me it’s great to see Steve and Greg in action.

I wonder if the film looks like what people expect?

The much anticipated film Ante is arriving this month. Check out the website and follow the Facebook page for news, screenings and exclusives.

Check out this teaser. It’s actually a 2nd year Uni film that has only now been finished. This Halloween saw it freed from the dusty crusty confines of  its post production prison,  rise from the dead and haunt present day film festivals.

The film was a collaboration between Kyle Brearey and Chris Cronin who left University to form KAB Media and Genesis Flux respectively. Those of you who have been paying attention will recognise their names from the short film Ante which is due a belated release in December.

Will post a great 6 minute clip of Working Title in a couple of days.

My showreel.

Ante The Teaser gets blogged

September 11, 2010 — 4 Comments

As many of you are aware I took part in the creation of the short film Ante earlier this year. The director Chris Cronin edited Ante the Teaser in a few days mainly to show the crew and the cast, and give us a flavour of how it will look. Well, the teaser attracted 1000 YouTube views over a few days and kept on climbing despite having no publicity. The teaser itself garnered entry into a Film Festival and bit of a buzz has surrounded the film ever since.

It is a great story written by Paul Thomas who was inspired by Richard Kuklinski ‘the iceman’ in his creation of the Hitman Pierson, the character I play. It was one of those gamble shoots for an actor as far as I was concerned. I hadn’t heard of the director and I didn’t know who else had been cast. So the first thing I did was google other work Chris had done and after watching that I knew I wanted to be part of this project. I was impressed by his visual style and ideas, and even though I wouldn’t be paid I auditioned anyway.

I don’t usually do unpaid work anymore but sometimes it feels right to help out in that way and to be honest I’m glad I did. The other actors were great to work with and the crew were a team that in my opinion, along with the writer, have a good chance of going far in the mad bad biz of film.
